Terms & Conditions
The terms on which we supply filtration products and services.
Last updated: 27 July 2026
These terms apply to goods and services supplied by AB Components Ltd. They are written to be understood rather than to be impenetrable.
Nothing in these terms removes or limits your rights where the law does not allow it. If you are buying as a consumer rather than for a business, you have additional statutory rights which these terms do not affect.

Enquiries, quotations and orders
This website is a catalogue and an enquiry service. You cannot buy through it, and nothing on it is an offer to sell.
- A quotation from us is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise, and is not an offer capable of acceptance until we confirm your order.
- A contract is formed when we accept your order, either in writing or by supplying the goods.
- We may decline an order, for example where an item has been discontinued, where a price was listed in error, or where a part is not suitable for the application described.
- Where a price or specification is obviously wrong, we are not obliged to supply at that price. We will tell you and let you decide.
Prices and payment
- Prices are quoted exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. VAT is added at the prevailing rate.
- Carriage is charged in addition unless the quotation says it is included. Current carriage rates are on our delivery page.
- Account customers are invoiced on 30 day terms from the date of invoice unless agreed otherwise in writing.
- Customers without an account pay before despatch or on collection.
- We may charge interest on overdue accounts at the statutory rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
- Goods remain our property until paid for in full, even after delivery.
Delivery and collection
- We deliver across mainland UK by next-day courier where stock allows, offer free local van delivery in our area, and welcome collection from our trade counter in Ilkeston.
- Delivery dates are estimates given in good faith. Time is not of the essence unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
- Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery, or on collection.
- Please check goods on arrival. Shortages or damage in transit must be reported within 3 working days so we can claim against the carrier — after that, carriers will not entertain a claim and neither can we.
- If nobody is available to receive a delivery and it is returned to us, we may charge the cost of redelivery.
Returns and cancellations
- Stock items in unused, resaleable condition and original packaging may be returned within 14 days of delivery. Please contact us first so we can issue a returns reference.
- Return carriage is at your cost unless the item was faulty, incorrectly supplied, or not as described.
- A restocking charge may apply to items returned purely because they are no longer wanted.
- Special order, bespoke and obsolete items cannot be returned once manufacture or a special order has begun, because they are made or sourced specifically for you. We will always tell you before an order becomes non-returnable.
If you are buying as a consumer, your statutory cancellation rights apply in addition to the above.
Warranty
We warrant that goods supplied will be of satisfactory quality, will match their description, and will be free from defects in materials and workmanship at the time of delivery. Where a manufacturer offers a longer warranty, we will pass it on and help you claim under it.
The warranty does not cover:
- fair wear and tear, or a filter that has simply reached the end of its service life
- a filter fitted incorrectly, or used outside its stated rating, pressure or temperature range
- damage caused by contamination, misuse, accident or unauthorised modification
- consequential wear to other equipment where an element was left in service beyond its change interval
If something is faulty, tell us. We will repair, replace or refund it.
Cross-references and suitability
A great deal of what we do is identifying and cross-referencing parts, often from a number, a photograph or a set of dimensions.
- A cross-reference is offered as a competent professional opinion that an alternative is equivalent. It is given in good faith and based on the information you provide.
- You remain responsible for confirming that a part is suitable for your application, particularly where the duty, pressure, temperature or filtration rating is critical, or where equipment is under a manufacturer's warranty.
- If you are unsure, tell us the machine and the application and we will advise. If we are unsure, we will say so rather than guess.
Services
Where we supply services — LEV testing, oil analysis, site surveys and ultrasonic cleaning — the following also applies:
- We will carry out the work with reasonable care and skill, and in accordance with the relevant standards and regulations where the service is a statutory one.
- Reports and test results reflect the condition of the equipment or sample at the time of the work.
- An LEV thorough examination and test does not transfer your duties under COSHH to us. Acting on the findings, and keeping the system maintained between examinations, remains the employer's responsibility.
- Cleaning services are offered where cleaning is appropriate. Where an element should be replaced rather than cleaned, we will tell you, even though it means a smaller job for us.
- You are responsible for providing safe access to the equipment and for telling us about any hazards on site.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the statutory terms as to title, or for anything else which cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that:
- We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of contracts, loss of production or downtime, loss of anticipated savings, or any indirect or consequential loss.
- Our total liability in connection with any contract is limited to the price paid for the goods or services in question.
- We are not liable for a failure to perform caused by something outside our reasonable control.
We strongly recommend you insure against production losses rather than rely on a supplier's liability, which is normal practice in this industry.
Data protection
We handle personal information in accordance with our privacy policy, which explains what we collect, why, and how to have it changed or deleted.
General
- These terms, together with our quotation and order acknowledgement, form the whole agreement between us and replace anything said or written beforehand.
- If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
- A delay in enforcing any of these terms is not a waiver of them.
- We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one in force when we accepted it.
Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
