Filtration? It’s as easy as ABC
Since 2006 we’ve helped UK industries keep equipment running with the right filters, fast.
Our story
AB Components Ltd began in December 2006, founded by James and Jennifer Edgar, supplying predominantly Donaldson filters to customers ranging from motor factors and buying groups to solitary farmers — quickly becoming an “emergency service for filters”. In the early days James ran sales and accounts from Ilkeston while stock shipped from Norwich, touring the UK to deepen long-standing relationships.
Momentum brought a 2008 move to Manners Industrial Estate, a local van delivery service and a broadened supplier list. By 2014 we’d expanded into a 6,000 sq ft unit with larger offices, a conference room and extra warehouse capacity. In 2021 we invested again — into a combined 12,000 sq ft, two-unit site with a mezzanine, a busy trade counter, ample parking and a bespoke training and presentation space for customers and suppliers.

Led by James Edgar’s near 40 years, our team solves complex enquiries quickly.
Identify parts by number, dimensions, application or a sample — right, first time.
As our reputation grew we became a key UK distributor for leading hydraulic brands including Filtration Group (formerly Mahle Industrial), Argo-Hytos, Taisei Kogyo and Hengst Hydraulic — alignments that safeguard quality and continuity of supply.
Alongside these premier partnerships we maintain extensive, multi-supplier stock so customers can choose by price, brand preference or availability — whatever gets critical equipment running fastest.

Community & values
We actively support our industry and local communities through exhibitions and events, and we champion charities close to our team’s hearts. In particular we promote Lighthouse (The Construction Charity) and RABI (the Farmers’ Charity) — their helplines appear on our popular wall planner — and each year colleagues select a different cause to support on Christmas Jumper Day.
Call or message us with your requirements. We’ll identify the right filter, propose equivalents, and turn a quote around quickly.
