Who is AB Components Ltd?
Company History
AB Components Ltd was founded in the December of 2006 by James Edgar.
Initially James worked from his home in Ilkeston, managing the sales and accounts, while stock was held and despatched from a warehouse near Norwich.
In March 2008, following a successful first year of trading, ABC relocated its warehousing, sales and accounts to its current location on the Manners Industrial Estate, Ilkeston - between Derby and Nottingham.

Suppliers
ABC supply filters and filtration accessories produced by the world's leading manufacturers. Our three major suppliers are Donaldson, Mann+Hummel and Crosland.
We are also able to supply over 50 others brands, including Mahle, Stanadyne, Luber-finer, Hifi, Fleetguard, Parker, Perkins, Racor and Hydac.
When the doors opened for business ABC became an authorised Donaldson Filtration Components distributor. We are now recognised as one of the largest Donaldson Filtration Components distributors in the country.
Donaldson have been an innovative filter producer for over 90 years. Their product quality has helped cement them as one of the world's leading filtration component manufacturers.
Donaldson produce high quality OE filters for many companies, including Agco, Caterpillar, JCB, John Deere, Manitou, Scania, Terex and Volvo, to name just a few. Donaldson bring the same high quality to their aftermarket filtration ranges.
Mann+Hummel have been developing and producing superior quality filtration systems for vehicle manufacturers worldwide for over 60 years. Mann Filter is the OE quality aftermarket brand of Mann+Hummel.
In addition to supplying OE components to many vehicle manufacturers (both automotive and heavy duty), Mann+Hummel are also one of the world's leading producers of filtration components for compressors and vacuum pumps.
Crosland, when it was based in Nottingham, gave James Edgar (ABC's co-owner) his first job in the filtration industry. He worked there for five years.
Since 1955 Crosland has been committed to applying traditional engineering skills while harnessing the latest technologies to improve quality while reducing costs. Crosland are part of the Sogefi group.
Sogefi produce high quality OE filters for many companies, including Case, E.R.F, General Motors, Honda, Ingersoll Rand, Iveco, Land Rover and Rolls Royce. In Crosland, Sogefi deliver equally high quailty in their aftermarket filtration ranges.

ABC Service
AB Components is committed to supplying high quality filters and filtration accessories to the satisfaction of its customers. ABC prides itself on high standards of service from its small, dedicated team.
ABC has a large, ever expanding, database at its disposal to cross reference thousands of filter part numbers from hundreds of component and vehicle manufacturers.
In addition to the cross referencing of part numbers, AB Components can identify filters from a combination of application details1, filter dimensions and type, or from a sample filter.
ABC also offers a specialised filtration manufacturing service. This includes obsolete filters, customers' own design, and product modification.
AB Components aims to fulfill orders with as short a leadtime as possible. With over 2000 lines in stock, ABC often has what you need off the shelf.

The ABC Team
Following on from the success of the first year of business and the relocation to Ilkeston, AB Components expanded its work force. Now the company has three members of staff.
- James Edgar, with many years of experience in the industry, is the filtration technical support person, as well as owner and director.
- Robert Cooper joined in March 2008. After previously working in transport and logistics he is now overseeing much of the systems developments AB Components is currently implementing.
- Jo Chapman joined in May 2008. After previously working in shipping, she is now managing most of the inventory, ordering, despatches, deliveries and accounts.
